There is a very profound and religious explanation for these "Prayer Flags". In my own words I would say: Think about something good, your best hopes for a friend, loved one or for the positive outcome of any situation, stand near the flags, and they will disperse your prayer through out the world. Not a bad idea, after the flags are removed, keep up the tradition.
